Running Accomplishments:

I have completed the Race for the Cure 5K, Salt Lake City 5K, Heart of Holladay 5K, Deseret News 10K, Provo River 1/2 2006, Top of Utah Marathon 2005, St. George Marathon 2006.

Short-Term Running Goals:

Hopefully, I will lose all of the weight that resulted from having two children within two years (the last 10-15 lbs. are a pain to drop).

Long-Term Running Goals:

I would like to keep improving my times and run each race better than the last one.  I want to keep pushing my body and see how far I can go (without ending up with titanium knees by the time I'm 50).

Personal:

I am married to a great guy.  Running and being active is a big part of our lifestyle.  We typically take our children hiking at least once a week.  Most of the time, I can be seen around the City pushing my two kids in their BOB double-jogger, trying to get a few miles in.

I’m back from a long vacation from running.  After the DN 10K, I stopped running.  I am not sure why, but I did.  I started missing runs and before I knew it, even running a couple of miles became a struggle.  I am amazed at how quickly I lost all of my fitness.  Now, I am at a point where I can’t run without constantly taking walking breaks.

My plan is to build my base back up again this Fall/Winter.  Hopefully, next Spring, I will be in a position (fitness wise) to start training for St. George 2009 or some other Fall marathon.

During the last week, I started reading Sasha’s wife’s blog and it really inspired me.  I started thinking to myself, “wow, this woman is nine months pregnant, has a large family, yet she still manages to find the time and energy to run.”
